Comdain was appointed as Principal Contractor on this $8M channel automation project to help improve system efficiency as part of the important water infrastructure modernisation project in the Murrumbidgee Irrigation Area.

Early works commenced in May 2017 with the modification of existing channel regulator structures to house new regulator gates for the Main Canal and Division 3 channels. Comdain also managed the design and construction of a completely new regulating structure in the Main Canal which was approximately 35m wide and 4m deep. A total of 158 gates needed to be installed in a short timeframe to ensure completion within a 2 month winter shut down period.
