Tom Coen
Managing Director
Tom has over 32 years’ experience in construction, civil engineering and maintenance services in the water and gas sectors.
Tom is responsible for Comdain’s strategic growth and performance and he takes a personal and active involvement in managing the business to achieve its objectives. Tom has a passion for innovation in construction and in particular for non-adversarial contracting. His strong principles, ethics and inclusive management style are the foundations of Comdain’s long term business relationships and ensure he attracts and retains high calibre long-term employees with excellent skills and dedication.
Tom is a member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors (MAICD).
Peter Coen
Chief Operating Officer
Peter has 18 years of experience at both supplier and contract management level within the civil engineering and building industry.
With a formal education in applied economics and marketing, Peter provides a strong focus on micro and macro economic issues and trends. Since 1996 Peter has been a force behind the growth and success of the Comdain Group providing leadership and implementation for strategic marketing, IT, management reporting, occupational health, safety and quality management and human resource management.
Peter is an active member of the Master Builders Association of Victoria (MBAV), Housing Industry Association (HIA) and a member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors (MAICD).
Alex Marshall
General Manager – Irrigation
Alex has 17 years’ experience in the irrigation sector and his key skills include rural water management and more particularly, modernisation project management and irrigation environment management. He has a unique understanding of interactions between civil, mechanical and production environments and a proven track record in delivering exceptional outcomes across a multitude of irrigation projects in Victoria and New South Wales.
Alex has responsibility for the leadership, performance and growth of the Comdain irrigation business. He is actively involved in all aspects of this business. Alex’s role is highly hands-on, ensuring that the business embraces the vision of the client, driving innovation, best practice and value for money solutions.
Before his time with Comdain, Alex has held senior positions with Goulburn-Murray Water, Murray Irrigation Limited and Glenelg Hopkins Catchment Management Authority.

Doug Prow
General Manager – Gas
Doug has over 35 years of experience in maintenance and construction in the utility industry. As General Manager, Gas and with a successful track record in leading, managing and delivering major maintenance, operations and construction projects, Doug is fully conversant with alliance cultures, driving a common vision, delivering result-oriented outcomes. He encourages creative delivery solutions driven by customer focus and strong work ethic.
With a strong background in field supervision, productivity and stakeholder management, Doug is committed to developing and promoting long-term relationships and achieving goals through alliance partnerships. He has an exceptional track record in delivering critical projects to meet tight timeframes.
Before joining Comdain Infrastructure, Doug held senior positions with the Gas & Fuel Corporation.

Simon Maher
General Manager – Civil
Simon has worked in the water, irrigation and gas sectors for 16 years. He has extensive civil construction planning, scheduling, procurement, delivery and operations management experience, strong technical competencies combined with the ability to collaborate with asset owners, designers and authorities to fast-track delivery of projects when scope is not fully defined at inception.
As General Manager, Simon is responsible for managing the civil construction business within Victoria and leading this specialised construction team in the delivery of water and gas infrastructure projects for both public and private sectors. Simon has been with Comdain since 1995 and worked with a range of water authorities across Victoria.

Mark Lambert
General Manager – Commercial & Risk
Mark has a diverse set of skills in the disciplines of engineering, commercial and contract management, general management and law. He is a committed and driven professional who is passionate about business strategy, sound economic decision making, effective risk management, good corporate governance and business ethics. Mark looks to add value in everything that he does. Mark understands that in business, there is no reward without risk, the key is to manage risk effectively in order to maximise the reward.
Being a qualified civil engineer and a commercial professional he has an intimate understanding of the risks inherent in the construction industry, equipping him well to lead the management of risks in a construction business. Mark has practiced as a commercial lawyer and maintains his legal practicing certificate.

Glenn Trudgeon
Financial Controller
Glenn has over 22 years’ experience in the finance sector in senior leadership roles across a diverse range of businesses including KPMG, Pitcher Partners, The Myer Family Company and Slade Pharmacy Services.
Glenn has extensive skills in management reporting, financial analysis, budgeting, financial structuring, loan funding proposals, cost reduction and the development of strategic operating plans.
Glenn has driven due diligence and contract negotiations for a number of strategic acquisitions. As head of finance for two start-up companies he was involved in establishing investors, finance, IT systems, banking facilities and administrative systems for the launch of commercial operations.
Glenn combines strong commercial acumen with a terrific people focus. He builds productive and loyal relationships that encourage achieving optimum outcomes.
Glenn is a member of the Australian Institute of Chartered Accountants.
